Description

Responsible for various tasks relating to the receipt, storage, movement, and    shipment of internal and external customer orders. A Senior Logistics Technician is considered a technical expert with the ability to mentor and lead a diverse team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Efficiently execute tasks assigned by the Logistics Supervisor, prioritizing them effectively.
  • Coordinates seamlessly with all departments to ensure exceptional internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of warehousing concepts and best practices within a manufacturing environment.
  • Review the shipping schedule using the ERP system, Reporting Tool, and Microsoft Outlook to stay informed about customer requirements for parts requiring subcontracting processes (e.g., heat treating, vapor degreasing, threading).
  • Expedites parts to subcontractors promptly, ensuring timely delivery and seamless coordination with all departments to meet customer requirements.
  • Highly skilled in packing, labeling, using various shipping methods (online portals via Fed-X, UPS, DHL; common carrier, special carrier, local truckers, sub-contractor trucks or in a company vehicle.) while creating all necessary shipment documents to meet customer requirements.
  • Efficiently maintains and coordinates purchase order documentation, ensuring proper receipt of materials from subcontractors, vendors, with proper documentation and ERP postings.
  • Expertly completes all paperwork (Certificates, receivers, etc.) with precision and accuracy and posts transactions in the ERP system.
  • Promptly notifies the Quality Department upon the return of priority items for inspection, ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Loads and unloads all delivery trucks and operates company vehicles, lift trucks, hand trucks, and all other material handling equipment.
  • Receives in raw material - records purchase order receipt, prints RM labels and posts the required information in the ERP System and places the material in the -designated incoming location.
  • Efficiently transport lubricants, raw materials, in-process parts, shipping containers, tools, supplies, and other manufacturing supplies to and from work or storage areas.
  • Manages the transportation of scrap containers, logs their weights, issues materials, maintains and posts the scrap log, performs final reconciliation, and coordinates with the scrap dealers for pickups, providing necessary documentation.
  • Conducts inventory of packaging supplies and recommends reordering items such as pallets, bubble wrap, cartons, bags, and totes.
  • Performs Forklift Safety check and records on the checklist daily.
  • Will be required to assist in the training of new employees.
  • Properly handle and label hazardous materials and wastes as directed by supervisor, including conducting hazardous waste and PPC site inspections, and forwarding completed inspection forms weekly to the designated document control person.
  • For International shipments:
    • Prepare all export documents.
    • Files an EEI, if necessary
    • Creates and includes all documents required by specific forwarder and customer if required.
    • Adhere to all procedures for shipping items with an export license, ensuring compliance with export regulations.
  • Inspects outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.  
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Strong understanding of modules utilized within the ERP system, as well as major transportation vendor systems, such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of warehouse practices.
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license.
  • Proficient in basic math skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibits supervisory and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to write and read English.

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED).
  • 10+ years of shipping and receiving experience within a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Lean concepts and practices with a passion for implementing continuous improvement.
  • Industry certifications such as APICS preferred but not required.
  • Exhibits supervisory and leadership abilities.

 LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to earn forklift certification in a speedy manner.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This is not a supervisory position.
