The Senior Industrial Engineer will optimize manufacturing and operational processes, drive efficiency improvements, and implement cost-saving initiatives using data-driven methodologies to enhance quality, safety, and productivity, to reduce waste, and to improve overall system performance. This role will focus on Lean Manufacturing, 5S, safety, and quality improvements, and mentoring junior engineers while collaborating across departments to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence - Process Improvement & Optimization: Analyze and refine manufacturing, logistics, and operational workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Lean Six Sigma Implementation: Apply Lean manufacturing principles and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • 5S & Workplace Organization: Lead the implementation and sustainability of 5S of methodologies to create a safer, cleaner, and more organized work environment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Identify and mitigate ergonomic, safety, and operational hazards while ensuring compliance with OSHA, industry regulations, and company policies.
  • Quality & Defect Reduction: Collaborate with quality teams to implement error-proofing (poka-yoke), root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective action plans (CAPA) to minimize defects and improve product reliability.
  • Data Analysis & Performance Metrics: Collect, interpret, and utilize operational data to develop KPIs, conduct and review time and motion studies, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Capacity Planning & Forecasting: Evaluate production capacity and develop strategic plans to meet future demand, including equipment and technology evaluation, resource allocation and facility layout optimization.
  • Project Management: Lead and support cross-functional projects focused on automation, process standardization, and operational improvements.
  • Supervising, Mentoring & Training: Provide direction, guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and production teams, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Workforce Optimization: Implement labor utilization models, improve work methods, and enhance ergonomics to maximize workforce efficiency.
  • Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify opportunities for cost savings through material optimization, process automation, and waste elimination initiatives.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and leadership teams to align on strategic initiatives and drive operational excellence.
  • Technology & Automation Integration: Assess and integrate advanced manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and digital tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop, document, and implement SOPs and best practices to ensure standardization and repeatability across operations.
  • Learning and Development: Support recruiting and training of Industrial Engineers. Provide training on methods and technology to engineers, production, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or a related role.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, PMP, OSHA 10 Certification, or relevant industry certifications.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent software, process simulation software, ERP/MRP systems, and data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in pre-cast production or construction fields preferred.
