About the role:
We are looking for a Senior IC&E Technician (Level III) with an electrical background to support operations at a power generation facility in Pittsburg, CA. This is a 2–3 month contract with possibility for extension.
You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure safe and reliable plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical systems, including:- Generators, transformers, and switchgear
Support and maintain instrumentation and control systems, including valves, transmitters, and field devices
Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and turbine control systems
Perform advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis for electrical and control failures
Implement preventive and corrective maintenance following OEM and plant requirements
Use CMMS systems to manage work orders, track maintenance, and document activities
Help improve preventive maintenance programs and system reliability
Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation
Maintain accurate records, logs, and technical documentation
Provide detailed reports on system performance and issues
Be the technical lead/resource, supporting and mentoring junior technicians
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or technical/vocational degree (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of IC&E experience in a power plant or heavy industrial environment
Strong electrical troubleshooting background (required)
Experience working with:- DCS systems (monitoring, troubleshooting, and configuration/programming)
Familiarity with CMMS systems (Maximo, SAP, etc.)
Experience with electrical theory, instrumentation, and control systems
Read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs
Valid driver's license
