Role Description:
The accountant will be responsible for overseeing the month-end close process of the franchise business segment, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. This includes drafting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Additionally, the accountant will ensure that he financial activity of affiliated franchisees is accurately recorded in the company ledger, maintaining compliance with company policies and financial regulations. The role also involves managing general ledger entries, financial reporting and providing key financial insights to management for decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Perform the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare accurate and timely journal entries and account reconciliations to support the financial close process of the franchise business segment.
- Prepare and draft monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of franchisees' financial activity in the company ledger, maintaining consistency with company policies.
- Calculate and process franchise royalties, fees and other revenue.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with franchise operations, development and others as necessary to investigate and resolve discrepancies with confidence and clarity.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, financial projections, and budgeting processes.
- Provide strategic support to senior management for key business decisions.
- Assist with tax compliance and regulatory filings, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- QuickBooks experience is a plus, especially in managing multi-entity or franchise accounting structures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in franchise accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with multi-entity or franchise accounting is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software; JD Edwards and/or QuickBooks experience is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
