Based in Cranberry Township, PA, we are searching for an innovative, problem-solving, standout colleague to join our Turbine Mechanical Solutions group, which is responsible for the engineering design and field support for turbine mechanical solutions in the North American power and hydropower industry. 

Power & Water Solutions is an industry-leading controls automation company that provides applications in the renewable (solar, hydro, wind), fossil (natural gas and coal) power generation, and water treatment plant sectors. We focus on upgrading existing plant control systems with industry-leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote the sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid and wastewater infrastructure.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Develop and interpret mechanical installation drawing which include dimensional fits, tolerances, welding and equipment assembly.
  • Build 3D models and assemblies using software packages using Inventor and Pro-Engineer. Create 2D drawing using design packages such as AutoCAD.
  • Capture 3D point cloud data using CMM equipment such as Faro Quantum or Focus M70. Perform post-processing of 3D point cloud data to be used for design engineering functions.
  • Size hydraulic components such as hydraulic power units, valves, cylinders, servos, pumps, logic valves, etc. 
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical and electrical installation, calibration, and testing instructions to technical problems and customer projects.
  • Identify the specific problem(s) and develop creative solutions which satisfy customer needs, industry codes, government regulations and policies and procedures within the scope, budget, and schedule constraints. 
  • Perform work in office environment and at customer sites within operating facilities (e.g., power plant) which includes walking on grating, use of stairs and ladders, hot or cold ambient temperatures with potential high noise level, as well as carrying mechanical hardware.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or an equivalent combination of experience and education   
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience. 
  • Willing and able to travel up to 30% within North America. 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaboratively work in a team environment. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, creative design, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with customers and influence customer relationships in a positive manner.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. 
     

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electro-mechanical engineering.
  • Prior Ovation system experience. 
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
