Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician

Location: San Diego, CA

Pay: $35–$42/hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, highly self-directed Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician to support the build, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and delivery of complex electro-mechanical products, including subsea thrusters, actuators, and related marine propulsion systems.

This is not a repetitive production assembly position. We are looking for an experienced hands-on technician who can take ownership of a product, understand how the complete system works, identify problems, troubleshoot failures, and help get the product built, tested, and ready for delivery.

The right candidate will be comfortable working in a growing production environment where processes and documentation continue to mature. You should be able to work from drawings, schematics, work instructions, and engineering direction while also having the experience and judgment to solve problems when every step isn't spelled out.

What You'll Do

• Build and integrate complex electro-mechanical assemblies and systems

• Perform mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, cabling, and component installation

• Assemble and work with motors, actuators, sensors, connectors, and other electro-mechanical components

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation

• Perform functional testing and verify system performance

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system-level problems

• Diagnose failures and determine root causes with limited supervision

• Perform rework, repair, adjustment, and modification of assemblies as required

• Work directly with engineers to resolve technical and production issues

• Identify documentation, process, or design issues encountered during builds and recommend improvements

• Take ownership of assigned products through successful build, test, troubleshooting, and completion

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on electro-mechanical technician experience preferred

• Experience building, integrating, testing, troubleshooting, or repairing complete electro-mechanical products or equipment

• Strong mechanical aptitude combined with practical electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills

• Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and solve technical problems

• Experience with mechanical assemblies, wiring, connectors, motors, actuators, sensors, or similar components

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics

• Experience using electrical test equipment and common mechanical measurement tools

• Comfortable working with evolving documentation and solving problems that may not have an established troubleshooting procedure

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Experience That Could Be a Strong Fit

Experience with marine/subsea equipment is a plus but is not required. We are also interested in experienced technicians from:
