The Computing Solutions Department is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for development of the next generation product line solutions in Cedar Rapids, IA. The Computing Solutions organization is focused on the development of solutions that can be applied across a wide variety of Avionics products in safety critical commercial and military applications. Our team is responsible for the development, certification and sustainment of these solutions.

We are seeking motivated candidates with a proven history in the architecture, design, implementation, verification, and integration of a wide variety of high-performance digital systems that incorporate ASICs into a product solution. Having design and development experience with CAN is highly preferred. This an excellent opportunity to work with a highly experienced team of architects and senior engineers and a professional network across the Avionics business unit.

What You Will Do:

  • CAN Design and Development.
  • Develop products in accordance with DO-254 DAL A certification and participate in certification activities.
  • Requirements capture, decomposition, and traceability.
  • ASIC digital design and/or verification.
  • RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • ASIC/FPGA verification using inspection, analysis, simulation, and test methods.
  • Work with a wide variety of individuals including Engineering, Program Management, internal leadership and customers
  • Willingness to travel (domestically and globally <10%).

  • You will learn all phases of the hardware product life cycle from requirements through to verification, while employing the company engineering processes to produce high quality products.
  • You will learn the requirements for product certification required by federal agencies.
  • You will learn how to establish and maintain a computing module platform product line with a broad base of customers.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with best practice chip-level verification techniques and languages (e.g. constrained random, functional coverage, code coverage, LEC, SystemVerilog).
  • Experience with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Subversion, JIRA).

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Linux/Unix, scripting, C/C++, Python, and/or Perl.
  • Experience writing RTL and/or testbenches using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience using FPGA simulation and vendor specific tools (e.g. Questasim, Vivado, Libero, etc.).
  • Familiar with UVM or similar Constrained Random Methodology.
  • Strong communicator, able to interface within the wide spectrum of individual contributors to program management and customers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively document and present one’s work and status.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
