What we need

Symbotic is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Mobile Robotics Electrical Engineering team. This role drives innovation throughout the team, engineering products from concepts, design, test, production, and beyond. The individual will contribute side by side with highly talented Mechanical, Embedded, Compliance, Systems, and Project Engineers.

What we do

We are a fast-growing team designing mobile robots with a focus on new product development. Working cross functional to define requirements, architecture, specifications, PCA design, and initial robot bring up.

What you’ll do

  • Leads/contributes to the electrical engineering activities in all phases from specification and design to implementation and verification/validation testing.

  • Generation of detailed electrical schematics, PCB layout, drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs) for PCA’s.

  • Contributes to research, analyses, and down-selection of solutions for electrical system designs.

  • Responsible for managing technical activities for assigned projects and design integration with electro-mechanical and software systems.

  • Coaches and provides guidance for other electrical engineers on the team.

  • Travel to customer sites to support new installations.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelors or master’s in electrical engineering or related degree.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the field of electrical design.

  • Knowledge of local and national standards is a plus (UL, EN, IEC).

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential.

  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams and get along with others.

Our Environment

  • Up to 20% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

The base range for this position in Bay Area, California is $131,000 – $170,000 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
