Senior Electrical Engineer – Rail Industry
Location: Greater St. Louis, IL Area (Relocation Assistance Provided)
Are you an experienced locomotive electrical engineer ready to take on challenging projects in the rail industry? We’re seeking a skilled professional to design, analyze, and validate complex electrical systems for cutting-edge rail applications. This is a **highly technical role **- only candidates with direct locomotive experience will be considered. A robust relocation package is available for the right candidate.
Design and analyze electrical systems including AC/DC traction systems, rotating machines, diesel engine control, and wire harness design.
Work with serial communication and integrate 3rd-party systems.
Perform system and equipment validation testing.
Conduct performance analysis and simulation for locomotive systems.
Utilize statistical analysis to improve system performance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
3–5 years of electrical engineering experience in locomotive applications (required).
Strong knowledge of AC/DC traction systems, rotating machines, diesel engine control, and wire harness design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environment.
Locomotive design and engineering experience (mandatory).
Heavy equipment, rolling stock, or other rail-related industry exposure.
