Senior Electrical Engineer – Rail Industry

Location: Greater St. Louis, IL Area (Relocation Assistance Provided)

Are you an experienced locomotive electrical engineer ready to take on challenging projects in the rail industry? We’re seeking a skilled professional to design, analyze, and validate complex electrical systems for cutting-edge rail applications. This is a **highly technical role **- only candidates with direct locomotive experience will be considered. A robust relocation package is available for the right candidate.

What You’ll Do

• Design and analyze electrical systems including AC/DC traction systems, rotating machines, diesel engine control, and wire harness design.

• Work with serial communication and integrate 3rd-party systems.

• Perform system and equipment validation testing.

• Conduct performance analysis and simulation for locomotive systems.

• Utilize statistical analysis to improve system performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

• 3–5 years of electrical engineering experience in locomotive applications (required).

• Strong knowledge of AC/DC traction systems, rotating machines, diesel engine control, and wire harness design.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical preferred) and advanced Excel skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environment.

Preferred Background

• Locomotive design and engineering experience (mandatory).

• Heavy equipment, rolling stock, or other rail-related industry exposure.
