Status: Regular Full Time Position – Exempt/Salary

Reports To: Electrical & Controls Engineering Manager

GrayWolf Modular develops and delivers modular solutions that significantly enhance predictability and scale for the construction of our clients' key infrastructures and facilities. The group is focused on the data-center and advanced manufacturing space by specializing in E-houses, CDUs, CUBs, White Space, Modular Data Centers, and other modular products for these markets. We offer end-to-end services to develop, design, procure, manufacture, and commission these modular products to meet client requirements. 

Position Value Proposition:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will design, develop and create detailed working diagrams, drawings, and models of electrical and mechanical devices, parts, and assemblies, including dimensions, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and other engineering information. All design/detailing work is for mechanical and electrical systems for mission critical applications; specifically, the build of data centers.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strong knowledge of engineering theory, principles, practices and their application.
  • Ability to efficiently use design engineering software applications (SolidWorks Electrical and/or AutoCAD required, Revit and/or Navisworks preferred).
  • Familiar with operating in a PDM environment.
  • Analyzing and interpreting complex electrical applications.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical codes and regulations (AWS, ASME, UL, NEMA, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, etc.).
  • General knowledge of international regulations (preferred).
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Windows environment and MS Office Suite tools.
  • The ability to perform arithmetic computations using formulas.
  • Selects required information from computer programs, and internet sites, precedents, manufacturers' catalogs, and technical guides.
  • Independently resolves most of the problems encountered.
  • Promotes a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) to perform essential functions of this position:

I. Work Experience

  • 15+ years experience in electrical engineering, 10+ years experience in controls/PLC programming is a plus.
  • Data Center experience preferred
  • MODBUS, BACNET, DISTECH preferred
  • HVAC detail / design experience is a plus.
  • Work and experience in a production environment is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret customer’s notes & sketches, vendor/supplier drawings and cut sheets, as well as verbal directions for development into complex design documents is necessary.
  • Ability to manage time and efforts toward completing designs on time and within budget is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written is required.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.

II. Education/Training

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required.

III. Work Environment

 

Work is generally performed in a climate-controlled office area. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time throughout an 8-10 hour day.
