Job Overview:

Allient Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Dayton, Ohio team!

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical hardware components and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all electrical hardware designs meet the required specifications and standards. Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical hardware components and systems, including schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs.
  • Perform electrical simulations and analyses to ensure that designs meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and product managers, to ensure that all designs meet the product requirements.
  • Conduct testing and validation of electrical hardware designs to ensure that they meet the required performance and reliability standards.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and field service teams to ensure that products are manufactured and serviced to the required standards

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in designing and developing electrical hardware components and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and signal processing.
  • Experience with electrical simulation and analysis tools, such as SPICE and MATLAB.
  • Experience with PCB design tools, such as Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.
  • Experience with BLDC motor control circuit design.
  • General understanding of embedded software used for BLDC Motor Control.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-speed digital design and signal integrity analysis.
  • Experience with embedded systems design and programming.
  • Experience with wireless communication protocols, such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance testing and certification, such as FCC and CE.
  • Experience with designing for EMC requirements per both CISPRE and IEC.

Skills:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will need to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will use your knowledge of electrical engineering principles and tools to design and develop high-quality electrical hardware components and systems. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and product managers to ensure that all designs meet the product requirements. Additionally, you will need to have a strong attention to detail and be able to conduct thorough testing and validation of electrical hardware designs to ensure that they meet the required performance and reliability standards.
