Job Overview:

Powell is an engineered to order manufacturer of switchgear and electrical equipment for the power generation industry. For 2nd Shift- pays base rate + 9% shift differential! Four 10s Schedule: Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-1:30am

The Senior Electrical Assembler will perform various duties on power control rooms including bending, running, installing, and terminating electrical conduit.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Install electrical devices (disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, lighting contactors, VFDs, etc.)
  • Ben, run, and install conduit (EMT and Rigid)
  • Install wire way
  • Install cable tray
  • Pull wire and large cable
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires
  • Install wiring by following standard work/process instructions (NEC Manual)
  • Learn and adhere to all safety policies and practices to avoid safety incidents
  • Learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure consistent production
  • Ensure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Must have a base command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Ability to bend conduit on a GB Sidewinder style bender (EMT and Rigid)

Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements

  • Experience installing cable tray
  • Experience installing wire way
  • Ability to crimp and terminate wires
  • Ability to read drawings or blue prints
  • Working knowledge of electricity, circuits, and functions of common components (panel boards, transformers, disconnects, terminal blocks, relays, lighting contactors, etc.)
  • Ability to read drawings (wiring diagrams, schematics, layout drawings)
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal direction or supervision
  • Working knowledge of relevant NEC Code sections
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Knowledge of air, hand, and power tools
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Employee is expected to meet or exceed established Senior Electrical Assembler productivity run rates

Working & Environmental Conditions

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Constantly standing
  • Frequently working from a ladder, and climbing up and down ladders
  • Constantly working overhead
  • Constantly working in cramped quarters
