Senior Die Cast Technician (Cold Chamber)
Pay: $33–$38/hour (Based on Experience)
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Die Cast Technician with a strong background in setup, process optimization, and advanced troubleshooting—not just machine operation. This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who can take full ownership of the die casting process, proactively identify issues, and drive improvements in quality, efficiency, and consistency.
This role is ideal for a technician who understands the “why” behind the process, not just the “how,” and is comfortable working hands-on with both equipment and automation in a high-performance manufacturing environment.
If you have a proven track record of reducing scrap, improving cycle times, and dialing in complex processes, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot cold chamber die casting machines
- Independently adjust and optimize process parameters for quality and efficiency
- Perform die changes, advanced troubleshooting, and minor repairs
- Identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate production and process documentation
- Operate and troubleshoot FANUC robots and automation systems
- Assist with preventive maintenance and basic hydraulic/electrical troubleshooting
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on die casting experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
- Proven experience with setup, process control, and troubleshooting (not just operation)
- Strong understanding of die casting processes, tooling, and materials
- Hands-on experience operating and programming FANUC robots
- Deep knowledge of alloys, shot profiles, and die temperature control
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, and GD&T
- Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience reducing scrap and improving process performance
Preferred Skills:
- Electrical or maintenance background
- Experience with automation systems (conveyors, end-of-arm tooling)
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and molten metal safety practices
Benefits:
- Competitive pay: $33–$38/hour based on experience
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance starting on day one
- Flexible spending account (FSA)
- Short-term disability and company-paid life insurance
- 401(k) with company contribution
- Paid time off + 10 paid holidays
- Overtime after 8 hours per day
- Additional benefits including bereavement and jury duty pay
