Senior Controls EngineerJob Description Summary
Dauch is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to join our team in Rochester, Indiana. This is a hands-on, fully onsite position.Job Description:
Designs and recommends the control system architecture, products, components, and applications used in manufacturing processes; identifies and resolves system integration and interface issues.
Evaluates new and emerging manufacturing and control technologies, adapting into specifications as appropriate.
Confirms control system functionality, including appropriate safety compliance, by designing and/or executing test procedures.
Prepares and/or reviews electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls drawings; collaborates with related engineering teams to evaluate components, materials, and suppliers.
Ensures integrity of process and build data collection.
Provides information and support to manufacturing, process, maintenance, and other engineering disciplines by answering questions and requests and participating in projects.
Keeps equipment operating by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; calling for repairs; and implementing process improvements.
Manages supplier development and delivery.
Maintains project documents using approved methodology, tools, and templates.
Works on multiple, complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
Validates control system functionality, including safety compliance. Identifies areas for improvement in the current operating system.

Required Skills and Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years of Controls Engineering experience in an industrial automation environment. Electrical experience preferred.
Familiarity with robotics (Fanuc and ABB).
Hands-on experience with Siemens/Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting Fanuc CNC Controls.
Experience with HMI/SCADA systems.
Knowledge of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Availability and willingness to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as needed to support the operation.
