Commercial HVAC Service Technician

We are hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems throughouAt Greater New Orleans and the Northshore.

This is a commercial position serving hospitals, healthcare facilities, government buildings, offices, and other commercial and institutional properties. There is no residential work and no sales quota. Most service calls are handled independently.

We are a locally operated commercial mechanical contractor with approximately 36 employees and 30 years of experience in the New Orleans market. We offer stable, year-round work, direct access to leadership, and a field environment built around trust and accountability.

Compensation and Benefits

• $106K - $123K per year, based on commercial experience and ability

• Guaranteed 40 hours when available and willing to work

• Time-and-a-half outside regular weekday hours

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain light-to-medium commercial HVAC systems.

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective service in hospitals and other occupied commercial facilities.

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems using schematics and equipment sequences.

• Service equipment including air-handling units, rooftop units, chilled-water systems, pumps, cooling towers, VAV systems, and VFDs.

• Address airflow, temperature, humidity, exhaust, ventilation, and pressure-control issues.

• Communicate professionally with customers, facility personnel, and leadership.

• Document completed work and escalate issues when additional support is required.

• Report directly from home to assigned customer sites.

• Participate in the service department’s on-call rotation, currently approximately one week per month.

What We’re Looking For

• 7-10+ years of commercial HVAC experience

• Strong independent commercial diagnostic and troubleshooting ability

• EPA Universal certification required

• Ability to read electrical schematics and understand equipment and control sequences

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

• Dependable, professional, and comfortable working in occupied customer facilities

• Willingness to report to assigned sites by 7:00 a.m. and participate in the on-call rotation

Hospital or healthcare experience is strongly preferred but not required. Experience in universities, laboratories, airports, data centers, institutional campuses, or other critical commercial environments is also valuable.

Advanced controls expertise, boiler-service experience, and refrigeration-service experience are not required.

Schedule and Service Area

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

• Direct dispatch from home

• Most work is within approximately 30 minutes of New Orleans and generally within one hour

• Service area includes Greater New Orleans and the Northshore
