Job Summary

Must be able to plan and perform CNC programs for a variety of metal cutting equipment. Job requires person to be quality conscious, work from prints or sketches and be a self-starter. Must be able to communicate and work with other employees in a positive manner. Must be knowledgeable with DNC software and collaborate with IT to help implement new software throughout the plant. Must adhere to 3Q6S guidelines.

Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to use precision measurement tools such as bore gages, calipers, indicators, height gage, etc.
  • Read and interpret all types of drawings and written instructions.
  • Basic computer skills, understanding of math, geometry, trigonometry, algebra, etc.
  • Ability to design or conceptualize holding fixtures or other required tooling.
  • CNC programming experience in multiple controls.

  • CNC horizontal lathes
  • CNC vertical/horizontal boring machines
  • Vertical/horizontal machining centers
  • CNC punch, flame cutting and plasma
  • 5 Axis Mills
  • Twin Spindle lathes
  • Esprit software
  • Solidworks software
  • DNC software

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 year technical college degree or 5+ years experience in metal working trades, preferably CNC lathes and mills.
  • 2+ years CNC programming in a manufacturing environment
  • Interpret drawings and written instructions
  • Ability to work in a team oriented setting
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of:

  • 5 Axis Mills
  • Twin Spindle lathes
  • Esprit software
  • Solidworks software
  • DNC software
  • 5+ years CNC programming in a manufacturing environment
