Build and Improve Specialized Metal-Forming Processes
Founded in 1957, Hialeah Metal Spinning (HMS) is a family-owned precision manufacturer serving aerospace,
defense, industrial, transportation, and commercial customers. Our capabilities include advanced CNC/PNC metal
spinning, deep drawing, fabrication, CNC machining, laser processing, and complex metal-forming operations. HMS
operates in an AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality environment and is ITAR registered.
Position Summary
The Senior CNC Metal Spinning Setup & Process Technician is a hands-on senior manufacturing role responsible for
setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and improving specialized CNC/PNC metal-spinning processes. This person
will work with tooling, programs, process parameters, drawings, inspection requirements, and production personnel
to produce complex formed components safely and consistently. A major part of the role is transferring knowledge:
developing repeatable processes and helping train the next generation of HMS spinning operators.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC/PNC metal-spinning machines for prototype and production work.
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD information, specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
Select and install spinning tooling, rollers, mandrels, tailstock/support components, and related fixtures.
Develop, prove out, document, and optimize spinning sequences and machine parameters for new and existing
parts.
Evaluate material behavior during forming and make controlled adjustments to improve dimensional accuracy,
surface condition, cycle time, and repeatability.
Troubleshoot forming issues such as wrinkling, thinning, cracking, springback, dimensional variation, tooling
marks, and process instability.
Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, templates, and other inspection equipment to verify conformance.
Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Tool Room, Maintenance, and Production to resolve manufacturing
problems.
Maintain accurate production, setup, tooling, and process information in HMS systems and work instructions.
Support preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of spinning equipment and promptly communicate
machine issues.
Train and mentor CNC spinning operators and apprentices in safe setup, operation, inspection, and process
discipline.
Support continuous-improvement efforts involving safety, quality, setup reduction, productivity, and tooling life.
What You Bring
Substantial hands-on experience in metal spinning, spin forming, shear forming, flow forming, or a closely related
precision metal-forming process.
Demonstrated experience setting up and operating CNC/PNC forming or turning equipment; CNC
programming/process-development experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, machine setup, feeds/speeds/process parameters, and the
behavior of formed sheet metal.
Ability to read complex mechanical drawings and apply dimensional tolerances and GD&T as required.
Proficiency with precision measuring equipment and first-piece/process inspection.
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and disciplined problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate process knowledge clearly and train less-experienced employees.
Hialeah Metal Spinning, Inc. | 8155 West 20th Avenue | Hialeah, Florida 33014
Strong English reading, writing, and speaking skills for drawings, work instructions, documentation, and OEM
communication.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a manufacturing team.
Preferred / Bonus Experience
Experience with LEIFELD CNC/PNC metal-spinning equipment or comparable spinning machinery.
Experience forming stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, nickel alloys, or other aerospace/industrial materials.
Experience in AS9100, aerospace, defense, or other controlled manufacturing environments.
Tool-and-die, manual machining, CNC turning, or forming-tool development experience.
Spanish language skills.
What HMS Offers
Competitive compensation based on experience and demonstrated skill level.
Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
Paid vacation and holidays.
401(k) with company match and performance-based bonus opportunities.
Overtime opportunities based on production needs.
A stable, family-owned manufacturing environment with opportunities to learn, grow, and advance.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Hands-on work in a manufacturing environment that is generally not air-conditioned and may include heat,
humidity, noise, fumes, airborne particles, and moving machinery.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work safely around industrial equipment for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds when required, with reasonable accommodations available for qualified
individuals.
Safety glasses and appropriate safety footwear/PPE are required.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an experienced metal-forming professional who can look at a drawing, tooling concept, material, and
machine and determine how to create a stable, repeatable process. You enjoy solving difficult forming problems,
improving existing jobs, and teaching others why the process works - not simply how to push the buttons.
How to Apply
Please send your resume to [email protected]. Qualified out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply; relocation
assistance may be considered for highly experienced candidates.
