About the Role

As a Senior Mill Turn Machinist, you will play a key role in the daily operation and setup of Mill Turn machines, ensuring quality, precision, and efficiency in our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for meeting production goals, troubleshooting processes, and maintaining a safe, high-performing work environment. What You’ll Do

· Machine Operation and Setup

o Independently set up and operate machines for all jobs ensuring adherence to company quality standards and production efficiency. 


· Process Improvement and Collaboration

o Troubleshoot production issues with support from Supervisors and Engineers to ensure smooth production flow.


· Quality Control and Inspection

o Conduct in-process inspections of machined products, documenting results to ensure products meet specifications.


· Maintenance, Mentoring, and Training

o Assist Machinists in diagnosing and resolving technical issues that arise during machining operations, leveraging analytical problem-solving to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.


· General

o Maintain a safe working environment, upholding a proactive safety culture by identifying and addressing potential hazards.

Requirements

    

What You’ll Bring:


· Education and Experience:

o Associates degree in Machining or related field or work experience in place of education.

o 5+ years’ experience as a machinist; 10+ years’ experience preferred. 

o Mori Seiki or DMG Mori Millturn experience preferred


· Skills and Competencies:

o Ability to express ideas, share information, listen actively, and demonstrate professionalism in written and verbal communication. 

o Able to read and interpret blueprints, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use hand-held measuring tools. 

o Proficient knowledge of GD&T. 

o Subject matter expert and “go-to” in assigned machining area, collaborating with other Senior Machinists and Supervisors 

o Strong mechanical aptitude.

o Advanced knowledge of reading G-code and M-code.

o Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 

o Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
