We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer. This individual will be responsible for leading the development and execution of manufacturing processes to ensure the successful launch of new products with a focus on first-time quality (FTQ) of 99%, on-time delivery, and continuous process improvement in a Lean manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage manufacturing process development for new product launches from concept through production, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Drive process capability to meet and exceed 99% First-Time Quality (FTQ) metrics.
- Create and maintain balanced, efficient production lines through line balancing and waste elimination techniques.
- Develop and implement Lean manufacturing principles including standard work, value stream mapping, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality, production, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturing readiness and excellence.
- Lead process risk assessments (PFMEA), and support control plan development to ensure robust and reliable processes.
- Define equipment specifications, lead procurement and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
- Utilize data analysis and root cause methodology to drive problem-solving and corrective actions.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers and technicians.
- Responsible for quoting business cases for new product launches including obtaining cost of tooling, assembly, and launch.
- This position will be responsible for business cases in all global manufacturing plants.
- Ensure all deliverables are met to secure on-time product launches within budget to include playbooks, standard work, and purchasing.
- Define equipment specifications, lead procurement and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment based on Design for Manufacturing analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in advanced manufacturing within the automotive industry.
- Proven experience in leading new product launches with demonstrated results in FTQ and on-time execution.
- Strong working knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools and Six Sigma methodology.
- Experience with line balancing, time studies, and process simulation software.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Proficient in CAD software, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
- Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience.
- Certifications in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
- Experience with IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP requirements.
