Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Security Service Technician to join the team in PA. This role involves maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of security systems, while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive customer relations through clear communication, professionalism, and timely service
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on security equipment/systems (inspection, adjustment, cleaning, calibration)
  • Complete maintenance to minimize emergency calls and achieve zero callbacks
  • Participate in emergency on‐call rotation
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and restore equipment/systems to full operation; recommend revisions when needed
  • Notify supervisor of systems requiring further analysis or replacement
  • Provide technical recommendations to support sales representatives during surveys or inspections
  • Identify and share sales leads discovered during service work
  • Provide basic customer training on simple systems
  • Promote and maintain strong customer relationships to support contract retention
  • Keep supervisor informed of customer needs, system status, and potential issues
  • Maintain company documentation and use inventory responsibly
  • Stay current with new products and technology; attend training programs as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience programming security systems (e.g., Andover Controls, Schneider Electric, Lenel, DSX, Pelco, Bosch, Avigilon, Ademco)
  • 2 years of experience installing security systems
  • 2 years of experience as an Electrician
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Computer skills and IT/network experience a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills
  • Flexible, adaptable, and resilient in changing environments
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Self‐starter with proven troubleshooting ability
  • Willingness to travel regionally to jobsites as needed

Physical Requirements

  • 40 hours/week, 8–10 hour shifts
  • Standing/climbing: 4–6 hours/day
  • Kneeling, lifting, reaching, bending: 4–5 hours/day
  • Twisting/walking: 2–3 hours/day
  • Squatting/sitting: 1–2 hours/day
  • Lifting: continuous 10–35 lbs.; frequent 35–50 lbs.; occasional 50–75 lbs.
  • Carrying: average 60 lbs. for 40 feet
  • Frequent use of hands (grasping, pushing/pulling, fine motor coordination)
  • Frequent use of feet (operating equipment, climbing)
  • Adequate vision for blueprint reading and wire identification
  • Balance for continuous climbing of ladders, scaffolds, and lifts
  • Work in temperature extremes (0°F–100°F), indoors and outdoors
  • Exposure to dust, gases, fumes, and odors within safe limits
  • Potential exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards
  • Required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, protective‐toe boots, gloves; additional gear as needed (fall protection, respirator, hearing protection, arc flash gear, insulated gloves/sleeves)
