Job Overview

For over 76 years Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. We are seeking an Assembler to join our dedicated General Assembly team on first shift. Members of the General Assembly team assembles a variety of products and sub-assemblies, and ensures all items are assembled correctly to meet RLWS quality standards. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with power and basic hand tools, have the ability to read blueprints and display excellent attention to detail. Experience working with overhead cranes, forklifts or material handling is preferred. 

The core hours for this position will be Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with Overtime as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities 

Some of your duties may include: 

  • Assemble both exterior and interior parts of the Mount Assembly
  • Transport product to the proper stocking location 
  • Package completed components to prepare for shipment
  • Must be able to work in a small group setting and independently to complete required workload 
  • Operate power tools and basic hand tools

You’ll also need to be able to:

  • Continuously stand and frequently push, pull, and reach during shifts 
  • Regularly lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds 
  • Occasionally operate a forklift or other lift equipment to retrieve and move items

  • Surroundings: You’ll be working in a manufacturing facility around moving machines like forklifts, overhead cranes and other machines.
  • Activity: Some activities may require standing in one place for a long period of time. 
  • Temperature: The temperatures in manufacturing vary depending on the season. 
  • Noise level: It’s pretty noisy in manufacturing. We provide hearing protection for you. 
  • Dress code: Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for safety. Comfortable, composite or steel-toe shoes are required. RLWS reimburses 50% for safety shoes once per year.
