We are looking for candidates to join our Saw Department. Successful candidates will receive a comprehensive training program with opportunities to advance, develop skills and experience in machining. Responsibilities
- Saw Operator will set up and operate saws to cut metal materials to the required length and shape
- Install saw blades, set stop gauges for the length of the cut, operate material feed, and set saw speeds for the type of materials
- Set up and operate metal cutting saws to cut bar stock to specified measurements
- Receive, store and route bar stock in the proper lengths, dimensions, and material types
- Operate overhead crane for loading and unloading material
- Responsible for the correct identification of raw material
- Mark ends of stock to maintain the proper identity
- Maintain an orderly work area and stock of material on the shop floor and on storage racking
- Utilizes material handling equipment as required
- Follows all departmental work procedures and company policies, including all company safety policies
- Participates in maintaining the company’s quality system and adheres to standard operating procedures as applicable
- Participates in employee training programs and communication meetings
- Performs daily operator maintenance on saw equipment
- Ensures the work area and equipment are properly maintained to provide a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
- Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience as a saw operator or in a similar role.
- Ability to efficiently operate different types of saws and cutting tools.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents such as blueprints or work orders.
- Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating cuts.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.
