Job Description

A growing manufacturing team is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Saw Operator to support the production of custom machinery and enclosures. This role focuses on precision metal cutting using a horizontal band saw (e.g., Clausing Kalamazoo or similar).

Key Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal band saw to perform accurate metal cuts

• Read and interpret work orders, cut lists, and blueprints

• Set up saw for different material types, lengths, and angles

• Verify cut accuracy using calipers, tape measures, and squares

• Maintain quality, safety, and production standards

• Collaborate with fabrication teams supporting machining, welding, and assembly

Qualifications

• 5+ years of horizontal band saw operation (Clausing Kalamazoo or similar preferred)

• Experience in metal cutting for fabrication or custom machinery

• Strong blueprint and cut list reading skills

• Proficient with measurement tools and tight tolerances

• High attention to detail with a focus on quality and productivity

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Nice to Have: Experience working for an OEM

Schedule & Pay

• Pay: $20–$25/hr

• Location: Itasca, IL

• Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Significant overtime required, 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM preferred)

Position Type: Contract-to-Hire (6-month CTH)
