Job Overview:

The Saw Operator will read blueprints or technical drawings and make adjustments for each job. Must be able to read a tape measure and perform basic math to set stops and guides to the specified length of each job. While operating the machine, it is important to look for any defects or issues.

This position is considered safety-sensitive and requires employees to safely perform all essential job functions in accordance with Company policies and safety procedures.

**ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

**

Cutting, Layout & Production Support

  1. Cut parts and components to support production requirements.

  2. Measure materials and perform layouts according to drawings and instructions.

Documentation & Process Compliance

  1. Complete required documents accurately and in a timely manner.

  2. Follow established procedures and work instructions to maintain consistency.

Safety, Training & Additional Duties

  1. Follow all safety procedures at all times.

  2. Attend required production meetings, safety meetings, and training sessions.

  3. Perform other duties as directed to support operational need

**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

**

Education and Experience:

  • Experience with the setup, maintenance and operation of machinery such as stationary band saw to produce parts for production.

Specific Skills:

  • Competent in the use of hand, air and power tools (die grinder, drill, skill saw, jig saw etc.)

  • Able to read and interpret drawings

  • Previous manufacturing experience an asset

  • Be able to operate a forklift

  • Effective time management skills

  • Problem solving, decision making, job task planning and organization skills

  • Stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of up to twelve (12) hours.

  • Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, crawl, and reach overhead.

  • Climb ladders, stairs, platforms, trailers, and production equipment.

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to fifty (50) pounds independently.

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull heavier materials with assistance or mechanical lifting devices.

  • Use hands, fingers, arms, and shoulders for repetitive gripping, grasping, pulling, pushing, and manipulation of tools and equipment.
