About the Role
As a Saw Operator, you will play a critical role in the production process by operating and maintaining a variety of saws, including Chop Saws, Double Up-Cut Saws, and Double Down-Cut Saws. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient cutting of materials used in the fabrication of pontoon boats and related components. Saw Operators must follow safety procedures, read and interpret work orders and measurements, and perform quality checks to ensure all parts meet production specifications. Working closely with other manufacturing team members, you will help maintain production schedules while contributing to the overall quality and craftsmanship of our products.
What You’ll Do
- Operate saw machinery as required.
- Use of tape measure, and angles for accurate cuts.
- Set up saws according to specifications for each production run.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
- Perform routine quality checks to verify the accuracy and precision of cut parts.
- Identify and report any issues or defects in the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to meet and maintain high-quality standards.
- Conduct regular maintenance on saws to ensure optimal performance.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs or adjustments.
- Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating tools/machinery.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Work closely with team members, including other production staff, to achieve production goals.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other relevant personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of production volumes, and any adjustments made during the manufacturing process.
- Complete production logs and reports as required
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Support a Barletta Safe culture by adhering to and advocating for the safest behaviors and proactively identify opportunities to mitigate job-related risks and hazards.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Experience operating chop saws, and other saw equipment
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Ability to read a tape measure
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have the ability to perform all physical requirementsrequiredforthe position, including but not limited to ability to stand, walk, push, pull, full range of motion, bend, kneel, climb, squat for 8+ hours and lift upward of 50lbs.
