Job Overview:

We seeking a SAP Enterprise Applications Analyst to join the Enterprise Application Support team, support SAP Business ByDesign and lead internal coordination for the transition to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. This role works across the business to maintain reliable ERP operations, improve processes, provide useful reporting, and manage implementation and support vendors.

The position supports all SAP Business ByDesign modules and related enterprise applications, including SAP Concur Expenses and Avalara tax services. This is not a developer role. Responsibilities include application administration, system configuration, business support, and vendor management. The analyst performs routine system configuration and coordinates major configuration changes and specialized technical work with external vendors.

The analyst coordinates these activities with Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Operations. Business departments retain ownership of their data, business policies, and final acceptance of changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary internal ERP contact, supporting users across purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, sales, finance, and other business functions.

  • Troubleshoot issues, document business impact, coordinate vendor escalation, and validate resolution with affected users.

  • Manage SAP implementation and support vendors, including priorities, scope, deliverables, timelines, service performance, and issue follow-through. Define acceptance criteria and validate demonstrations, configuration changes, and proposed solutions with business owners.

  • Lead internal migration activities from SAP Business ByDesign to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, coordinating requirements, end-to-end business testing, user training and adoption, cutover readiness, business sign-off, and post-go-live support.

  • Coordinate data preparation, mapping, validation, and reconciliation of inventory, open orders, work in process, received-not-invoiced balances, and financial balances with business owners and vendors. Support business continuity and continued access to historical records.

  • Identify process gaps and opportunities to use ERP capabilities more effectively; translate business needs into actionable requirements.

  • Maintain and prioritize an improvement backlog with business stakeholders, evaluating opportunities based on value, risk, effort and enterprise application roadmap alignment.

  • Work with business stakeholders to develop and maintain reports and dashboards that support operational decisions.

  • Partner with business process owners to evaluate requirements against standard SAP capabilities, identify opportunities for process standardization, and help govern requests for more efficient business workflows.

  • Support SAP Concur Expenses, Avalara, and other connected enterprise and corporate applications. Monitor ERP interfaces and data transfers; coordinate investigation and resolution of integration and transaction failures.

  • Maintain functional ownership of the enterprise application integration landscape including interface documentation, monitoring, issue coordination, dependency management and vendor accountability.

  • Administer user access and roles, perform routine system configuration, maintain documentation, and coordinate release testing and vendor-led changes.

  • Coordinate with business owners to maintain accurate material, BOM, supplier, customer, pricing, and planning data, including ownership and validation standards.

  • Support MRP, production orders, inventory allocation, serial traceability, quality workflows, and engineering changes in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.

  • Maintain appropriate application access and segregation of duties, document configuration changes, and support SOX controls, audit evidence, and record-retention requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Familiar with administering or supporting SAP Business ByDesign.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
  • Demonstrated experience migrating from one ERP platform to another, including data validation, business testing, and go-live support.
  • Experience managing ERP implementation or support vendors and holding them accountable for results.
  • Experience in, or demonstrated familiarity with, the manufacturing industry and its business processes.
  • Ability to support ERP processes across business functions and develop working knowledge of all SAP Business ByDesign modules used by the company.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes and coordinate practical solutions.
  • Ability to translate business needs into requirements, communicate clearly with technical vendors and business users, and manage competing priorities independently.
  • Ability to work on-site in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience migrating specifically from SAP Business ByDesign to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
  • Experience supporting SAP Concur Expenses and Avalara tax integrations. Vertex experience is a suitable alternative to Avalara experience.
  • Experience supporting engineering teams and familiarity with SolidWorks.
  • Experience with bill of materials generation and transfer from SolidWorks into SAP, including data accuracy and change coordination.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for data access, reporting, or integration.
  • Experience creating ERP reports, dashboards, and business analytics.
  • Experience with rental equipment and field-service processes, including recurring billing and equipment-level profitability.
  • Experience with manufacturing costing, backflush, work in process, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with corporate reporting and integration environments such as OneStream, JDE, Boomi, or Databricks.
