At Mennel Milling, we’ve been feeding the world since 1886 by doing what’s right and bringing our best every day. We value teamwork, recognize individual contributions, and are deeply committed to food safety, quality, and operational excellence. If you’re a hands-on leader with a passion for sanitation and food safety, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Who You Are
The ideal Sanitation Supervisor is a proactive, detail-focused leader with strong knowledge of sanitation, pest management, and food safety standards. You thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, lead with accountability, and ensure high standards are met every day—not just during audits.
What You’ll Do
As the Sanitation Supervisor, you will oversee all aspects of the facility sanitation program, pest management, chemical control, and food safety documentation across production and non-production areas. You’ll provide leadership to sanitation teams while ensuring compliance with regulatory and Mennel food safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and overseeing facility sanitation, pest management (IPM), chemical control, and food safety programs
- Maintaining an everyday audit-ready facility compliant with GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, FSMA, and GFSI standards
- Providing QRO leadership and support for food safety and IPM programs at the Newton facility
- Developing, maintaining, and executing the Master Sanitation Schedule and blow-down schedules
- Directing sanitation team activities and establishing daily cleaning priorities
- Tracking, analyzing, and reporting sanitation and departmental KPIs
- Managing IPM contractors and ensuring certifications, training, and documentation are current
- Overseeing fumigation and fogging activities to ensure safe and effective application
- Selecting and managing sanitation chemicals, dispensing systems, equipment, and cost efficiency
- Maintaining SOPs, OPLs, and sanitation documentation at point of use
- Partnering with Plant Management and Quality to conduct food safety risk assessments and product containment
- Participating in internal food safety audits and serving on HACCP and Food Safety Teams
- Training employees on sanitation, pest management, and chemical handling procedures
- Safely operating material handling and elevated work equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts)
- Supervising QRO Leads and QRO Technicians across multiple sanitation and food safety crews
What We’re Looking For
- Associate Degree required or 2–4 years of related experience (5–7 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of sanitation regulations and food safety standards in food manufacturing
- Proven experience leading teams in a plant or warehouse environment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to diagnose and resolve sanitation and food safety issues
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and leading positive change
- Flexible with work hours, shifting priorities, and ambiguity
- Action-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
