Position Purpose and Objectives
Under direction of department supervisor or manager, performs the cleaning and sanitization of the facility and equipment.
Essential Job Functions
- Compliance with all cGMP, safety and SOP’s.
- Communicates with Management and Supervisors as to the status of any potential cGMP and safety issues found in the facility.
- Remove waste, residue, and contaminants from drums, casks, and storage containers; sanitize surfaces to meet food, chemical safety requirements.
- Use approved cleaning agents and sanitizers to disinfect surfaces, equipment, and work areas
- Dispose of hazardous or non-hazardous waste in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Clean, sanitize and maintain excellent standards for facility.
- Perform general cleanup in all areas of the facility as directed.
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and Report inventory needs & equipment problems to Department Manager.
- Operate and maintain basic cleaning equipment.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Cross train in both areas of the Sanitation Attendant responsibility.
- Train new employees or temporary to cover for vacations etc.
- Complete all assigned tasks daily and fill out paperwork as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Maintain facility and equipment according to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and regulated food production standards cGMP.
Supervisory Responsibility
- None.
Working Conditions
- Strong interaction with Sanitation, Manager, Production Manager and Supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 months janitorial experience.
- Must conform to all quality standards of the company.
- Frequent lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours.
- Work frequently in a wet/humid & slippery environment.
- Able & willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to take initiative and work without close supervision.
- Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge in the use of cleaning supplies & chemicals and capable of comprehending additional training in sanitation & safety regulations.
