Position Summary:

The **Sandblaster **is responsible for preparing metal parts for finishing by using abrasive blasting techniques to remove rust, scale, old coatings, and contaminants. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality finishes and requires strong attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.

What You’ll Do:

Surface Preparation & Blasting

• Set up and operate sandblasting equipment to prepare metal surfaces for powder coating and finishing
• Select appropriate blasting media (aluminum oxide, glass beads, steel grit, etc.)
• Maintain consistent blasting patterns to achieve proper surface profile

Quality Control

• Inspect parts before and after blasting
• Identify and report defects or inconsistencies
• Collaborate closely with the finishing team

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance
• Maintain clean and organized blasting areas
• Dispose of blasting materials properly

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all PPE and OSHA safety requirements
• Monitor ventilation and dust collection systems
• Maintain a safe, production-focused work environment

What We’re Looking For:

• 1+ years of sandblasting, industrial painting, or related experience preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a production environment
• Team-oriented mindset
• High school diploma or GED preferred

On-the-job training available for candidates with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Stand for extended periods
• Comfortable working in enclosed blasting booth with full PPE
• Exposure to dust, noise, and abrasive materials
