Job Overview:

 

Title: Salt Laborer
Location:  Charleston, TN

Salary: $26.12 to $32.00/hr
Schedule: staggered 4-10’s 
 

Focus: The Charleston plant utilizes solid rock salt for both Potassium Chloride and Sodium Chloride raw materials. The Salt Laborer role supports both NaCl and KCl systems using an industrial skid steer, shovels, and other physical tools to keep equipment operating properly and areas cleaned and maintained.


Salt Laborer Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment for solid salt handling, such as skid steer or backhoe

     

  • Utilize hand tools, such as shovels and hammers, to promote effective salt flow
  • Obtain and maintain certification to operate motorized heavy equipment
  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance to assist with clearing of salt from mechanical transfer equipment such as salt belts and screws
  • Perform washing of salt tanks of solid salt utilizing water hoses.

 

Salt Laborer Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial laboring experience.
  • Must meet the physical requirements including, but not limited to, climbing stairs and ladders. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and operate heavy machinery.
  • Must be able to pass fit test for full and half face respirators.
  • Must be able to digest and disseminate written information and make numerical calculations sufficiently well to perform assigned general and specific duties and responsibilities.
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
