Job Description:

As an independent division within Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, Inc., ControlTech Automation (CTA) is a control panel integrator and fabricator for process, packaging, utility, and other industries. CTA is based in St. Louis and specializes in control panels for systems integrators and production facilities located throughout the United States. CTA can provide control solutions for a single piece of equipment, an entire process, or a complete plant. CTA has engineering design capabilities or will build panels from customer-supplied design packages.

The Sales Support & Quoting Specialist is well-organized to provide the necessary support to the field sales team and support our ambitious customers’ acquisition and revenue growth objectives. The successful candidate will become the point of reference for colleagues and customers by keeping schedules and providing feedback, documentation, and proposal information. The goal is to facilitate the team’s quoting and sales activities to maximize performance and development of the new and existing client base. The ISC must be comfortable making several calls, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects, and closing sales.

This position is offered as a contract-to-hire role, with the potential for full-time employment based on performance and business needs

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding customer needs and requirements
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate leadership for further development and closure.
  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
  • Maintain and expand panel sales prospects
  • Team with channel partners to build sales pipelines and close deals
  • Perform sales presentations and develop ongoing documentations
  • Partner with Sales Leaders to plan, prepare, and execute on strategic deals
  • Manage all technical aspects of RFP / RFI responses on sales proposals.
  • Collect and document competitive intelligence
  • Resolve issues to maintain and strengthen customer trust
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
  • Liaise with managers to develop specific sales strategies
  • Report on sales metrics and suggest improvements
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails

    Required Skills & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
    • 2–3+ years of industry experience in inside sales, sales coordination, or project support
    • Demonstrated ability to manage client and vendor relationships, including resolving pricing, product availability, and scheduling issues
    • Experience collaborating with outside sales, engineering, and clients on semi-complex buying strategies and quoting processes
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and able to work with ERP, CRM, or other business systems
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Proven ability to expedite demands while balancing cost efficiency and delivery timelines
    • Experience preparing RFQs, updating project plans, and participating in vendor negotiations
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain technical or pricing information clearly
    • Analytical skills to evaluate market conditions, quote accuracy, and pricing scenarios
