Job Description
 RMS BJ Superior is seeking a high-performing, technically strong sales professional to drive strategic growth within our specialized bearing and seal manufacturing and repair business. This is not a transactional sales role—this position requires the ability to understand complex turbomachinery component challenges, engage with engineering and operations teams, and position RMS BJ Superior as a value-added partner in high-speed rotating equipment solutions.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical expertise in bearings and sealing systems, strong industry relationships, and a proven ability to close high-value service and manufacturing opportunities.

EFFICIENCY – Experience Preferred:

  • In-depth understanding of Babbitted bearings, sealing systems, and turbomachinery components 
  • Familiarity with machining, repair processes, and RMS BJ Superior capabilities 
  • Ability to initiate, develop, and grow client relationships 
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of closing complex deals 
  • Ability to provide market insight and support business development strategies 

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive revenue growth by developing new business within target markets including oil & gas, power generation, and heavy industrial sectors 
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including engineers, maintenance managers, and procurement teams 
  • Identify opportunities for bearing and seal repair, manufacturing, and retrofit solutions 
  • Evaluate customer requirements, drawings, and specifications to define scope and recommend engineered solutions 
  • Lead quoting, pricing, and negotiation efforts for complex, high-value projects 
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering and operations teams to ensure technical alignment and successful project execution 
  • Maintain a strong field presence through customer visits, site engagement, and industry networking 
  • Provide market intelligence and contribute to strategic growth initiatives 

CORE CAPABILITIES YOU WILL REPRESENT

  • Babbitt bearing manufacturing, repair, and refurbishment 
  • High-speed oil seals and labyrinth sealing systems 
  • Custom and legacy bearing and seal solutions 
  • OEM replacement parts and retrofit engineering 
  • Precision machining, assembly, and finishing services 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting critical rotating equipment in oil & gas, power generation, or heavy industrial markets 
  • Background in service sales related to bearings, seals, machining, or turbomachinery components 
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets while maintaining strong customer satisfaction 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and effectively communicate solutions 

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience in outside sales within industrial services, machining, or manufacturing 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Position may be based at RMS BJ Superior’s Houston, TX facility 
  • Travel requirement: 75%+ 
  • This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week, averaging 45 hours per week. Additional hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required based on project needs.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license 
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background screening 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, write, speak) 
  • Must maintain professionalism in high-pressure environments 
  • RMS Inc. may have government contracts that impose specific requirements on employees working on those projects. If an employee does not meet these requirements, they may be reassigned to a different location or be ineligible to work on certain assignments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will regularly be exposed to a manufacturing environment involving moving mechanical parts. The facility is generally clean and safe; however, machining operations may generate moderate noise and exposure to metal particles.
