**Position Summary
**
Axis Technologies is seeking a highly driven and goal-oriented Sales & Production Coordinator. This is a hybrid role that combines sales development, customer relationship management, technical quoting support, and production coordination within a precision CNC machining environment. The successful candidate will bring strong manufacturing and machining knowledge, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) expertise, and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings. You will collaborate closely with internal managers, communicate effectively with customers and suppliers, and help drive both order growth and operational efficiency.
**Key Responsibilities
**
**Sales & Customer Relationship Management
**
Prospect, negotiate, and close sales orders with existing and potential customers.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and Axis staff through proactive, professional communication.
Provide timely customer updates on order status, including open order reports and production meeting insights (external and internal).
Gather and report market feedback—what customers are seeking and where Axis Technologies is best positioned to compete and grow.
**Technical & Design for Manufacturability
**
Read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, technical procedures, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ASME Y14.5 standards as they apply to precision machining.
Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to review customer designs, identify opportunities for improved machinability, reduced cost, and higher quality, and communicate recommendations clearly.
Write clear, accurate work instructions and job travelers to support efficient production execution.
**Quoting, Purchasing & Supplier Coordination
**
Support quoting activities by preparing and submitting RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors; serve as a trained backup for primary quoting personnel (Tony/Steve), including coverage during vacations and peak periods.
Enter and maintain RFQs in Paperless Parts; actively use system metrics to improve quoting accuracy, turnaround, and win rates.
Write and place purchase orders with suppliers and subcontractors.
Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors on status updates for planning, scheduling, and order fulfillment as needed.
**ERP, Systems & Collaboration
**
Utilize the company ERP system (Vista) for order entry, tracking, production support, and related functions; maintain accurate data to support planning and metrics.
Leverage Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and related applications) for professional communication, reporting, document control, and cross-functional collaboration.
Collaborate effectively with production managers and other internal stakeholders to align sales commitments with manufacturing capacity and priorities.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support sales growth, production efficiency, and overall company objectives.
**Required Qualifications
**
Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably within the machining trade (10+ years is a strong plus).
Demonstrated ability to prospect, negotiate, and close orders in a B2B manufacturing or industrial environment.
Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical procedures, and GD&T per ASME Y14.5 as applied to precision machining.
Solid Design for Manufacturability (DFM) skills with experience providing practical feedback on designs intended for CNC machining.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing ERP systems (prior Vista experience preferred; ability and willingness to learn our systems is required).
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint) for daily communication, data analysis, and collaboration.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interactions with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Highly driven, goal-oriented, and collaborative mindset with a track record of building lasting professional relationships.
Ability to create clear work instructions / job travelers and to write and place accurate purchase orders.
**Preferred Qualifications
**
Prior quoting, estimating, or RFQ management experience in a precision machining or job-shop environment.
Familiarity with Paperless Parts or similar digital quoting / estimating platforms.
Experience with production planning, scheduling, or capacity coordination.
Background working with waveguides, complex assemblies, or high-precision components for aerospace, defense, medical, or industrial markets.
