Sales Operations Manager
Riviana Foods is seeking a qualified and highly driven Sales Operations Manager to serve as the primary liaison between the Regional Field Sales and Internal Operation teams across the U.S. branded retail portfolio. A successful candidate in this position will play an integral role in tracking all changes and inputs to provide the demand planning teams with recommendations to forecast plans based on several factors including distribution changes, promotional schedules, competitive activity and industry trends. The Sales Operations manager will manage annual volume plan targets and provide monthly reporting to executive team members. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal & written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to analyze data.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor forecasts and track volume changes to provide regular input to demand planning teams
- Serve as the primary liaison between the regional field sales teams and operations supply/demand planners
- Support the monthly S&OP forecasting process and attend weekly meetings to review the integrated business planning (IBP) model and the supply chain outlook and results
- Review historical sales trends, prepare data to develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate results
- Propose projected volumes at the segment level for annual plan targets and 6+6 volume reinstatement exercises
- Review promotional and distribution plans with trade marketing to understand impact to forecast
- Identify areas of forecast risk and improvement opportunities
- Lead and manager shipper/pallet orders, aging inventory, and SKU rationalization run-out timing with sales teams
- Perform trend analysis to report inconsistencies with forecasts and actual sales
- Engagement in the forecasting of new item launches to ensure executional success
- Support annual financial planning processes and year-to-date volume tracking
- Create and manage sales meeting presentation materials for annual planning meetings
- Leverage all syndicated data sources such as IRI to identify customer opportunities and provide insights-based recommendations
- Provide monthly sales volume and trade spending reports to field sales and internal HQ office teams
- Complete ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed to support cross-functional teams and senior leadership
Education:
Experience & Key Attributes: - 3+ years of industry experience; forecasting, planning or sales operations role preferred
- Strong analytical skills required, highly proficient in excel
- Consumer Packaged Goods experience a plus
- Positive attitude and self-starter
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in working with and leveraging syndicated market data and tools (e.g. IRI, Nielsen POS and panel)
