Description

Sales Manager:


Facilitate, cultivate, and develop new and current customer relationships. Implement national sales action plan and marketing strategies to generate sales supporting the growth plan of the organization.  Work with the senior management team to develop revenue forecasts.  

  • Directing and coordinating all sales activities.
  • Preparing sales budgets and projections.
  • Tracking and analyzing sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics.
  • Handling and resolving customer complaints regarding a product or service.
  • Serving as the face of the organization to internal and external partners.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with customers.
  • Developing and publishing quotations in response to customer RFQ’s.
  • Identifying emerging markets to find new sales opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED:


This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales.


SUPERVISION EXERCISED


This position may be responsible for the supervision of other employees in the sales, marketing and customer service team as well as the coordination and management of the activities of commissioned outside representatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 5 years minimum experience representing manufacturing operations with a proven track record of developing new customer relationships. 
  • An engineering background is preferred.


Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Knowledge of proper phone etiquette and customer service techniques. 
  • Knowledge of computers and computer software, with ability to apply this aptitude in word processing, Excel spreadsheet development, and Word document merges, keyboarding skills. 
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and work with solid models of components.
  • Thorough knowledge of proper records management, retention of records, and cataloguing of files.
  • Strong ability to perform well and be unfailingly diplomatic in a high pressure and complex environment with a focus on customer service.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to envision and deliver innovative solutions.
  • High energy level, ability to multiple projects concurrently, establish priorities, work independently.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information which may be proprietary. 
  • Ability to prepare and analyze comprehensive reports, carry out assignments, and administer existing and proposed programs.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to understand customer specifications and problem solving to produce answers that make sense.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

  • Basic knowledge of foundry processes
  • Basic knowledge of alloys and metallurgy (ferrous & non-ferrous alloys)

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but can be moderate or loud when entering a manufacturing environment. 

The temperature in the work environment is usually regulated; however, some manufacturing environments may not be, the temperature may be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. 

Employees are required to abide by all safety policies when entering our manufacturing environment or visiting a customer location. This includes wearing the required safetywear, proper steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, and proper hearing protection as required.
