Job Purpose

The Market Sales Specialist has the responsibility to accomplish the Sales organization mission of developing and maintaining a profitable customer base for Graco products by increasing sales of products globally within the service/utility truck market.

Graco is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of highly-engineered systems for numerous industrial and commercial applications. This position supports our Lubrication Equipment Division (LED) in Anoka, MN. At LED, Industrial Lubrication products are used in wind energy, general manufacturing, and steel and mining industries (http://bit.ly/1jTCVMI). Petroleum Management products control fluids traditionally used for servicing vehicles, including pumps, tanks, hose reels, and meters (http://bit.ly/1krX8Tf).

Essential Duties

  • OEM and Key Account Management (70%)

    • Identify, analyze, and prioritize target OEM sales opportunities globally within the assigned market segment(s).

    • Develop and execute strategies for target OEM accounts and manage the OEM relationship from platform specification to commercialization.

    • Develop working relationships with regional sales teams, and understand their initiatives and market needs relevant to the primary market focus of the position.

    • Engage with end-users to understand market needs and drive brand preference.

    • Provide ongoing service and support of OEM customers as needed.

  • Market Development (15%)

    • Work closely with Marketing to gather competitive product, market intelligence and help implement winning strategies.

    • Identify market-focused products/technologies/services needed to meet the industry needs.

    • Work jointly with Marketing and Engineering to execute OEM-specific development projects.

    • Must be able to work independently or with the team to bring forward innovative product ideas, process changes, and continuous improvement.

  • Channel Development (10%)

    • Develop and implement annual and long-term development plans to support identified business strategies and penetrate accounts globally.

    • Define channel, sales, and service needs of the customer and implement applicable strategies to see these through the LED teams.

    • Work with Channel Marketing to identify and develop marketing collateral and sales tools to support sales through OEM channels.

  • Other duties as assigned (5%)

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent related experience

  • 2 to 5 years sales experience including OEM account management (Fluid Power experience is a plus)

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and influence all levels of an organization

  • Demonstrates leadership ability

  • Ability to facilitate many strategic projects at one time

  • Demonstrates skills in planning, prioritizing, problem solving and decision-making

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, along with excellent presentation skills

  • Strong technical aptitude towards electro/mechanical devices and products

  • Proficiency with computers (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint or equivalent)

  • Willing to travel up to 50%
