Job Overview:

Position Summary

The Safety Specialist is responsible for performing safety audits, conducting incident investigations, ensuring regulatory compliance, analyzing safety data, and collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure corrective actions are swiftly resolved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Audits & Inspections: Perform regular safety inspections of work areas, equipment, and processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance.

  • Incident Investigations: Investigate accidents, near misses, and workers' compensation claims to determine root causes and implement corrective action plans.

  • Policy & Training Support: Participate in the development of safety policies, support ongoing safety training programs, and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, etc.).

  • Data Analysis: Analyze safety data to identify emerging trends and contribute recommendations for program improvements.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance, management, and HR to troubleshoot issues, correct safety follow-up items, and foster a strong safety culture.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of safety-related job experience.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Canva.

  • Certifications (Required within first 6 months):

    • Forklift certification and stacker training

    • CPR/First Aid certification

  • Driver Requirements: Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation (frequent travel to other client owned locations required).

Physical Requirements & Working Environment

  • Environment: Fast-paced setting spanning offices, light industrial areas, store showrooms, and warehouses.

  • Conditions: Exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, pet hair, mold, and other common allergens.

  • Travel: Frequent travel to various LLGI locations required.
