Job Overview:

The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA’s Safety Management (SM) standard (29 CFR 1910.119) and the Louisiana Dept of Environmental Quality’s Chemical Accident Prevention Program (CAPP or EPA RMP).



Primary Duties & Responsibilities: List four or five primary responsibilities of the position in the space provided below, indicating the most important functions first.

· Ensure compliance with all SM and CAPP/RMP elements · Lead SM contractor staff (PHA Facilitator & PSI Technician) · Coordinate PHA efforts and management review of PSI and PHA’s · Review and approve Management of Change forms initiated by plant personnel. · Maintain PSM action item software and report metrics on such to plant management staff · Implement new programs and improve existing policies to ensure compliance with applicable standards · Assist the maintenance department in compliance for OSHA PSM mechanical integrity standards · Additional duties may vary

Maintain and schedule all ERT training for employees site wide

Required Skills or Abilities: In order of importance, list the specific skills or abilities which a qualified incumbent should possess (e.g., computer literacy, subject knowledge, etc.)

· Must have thorough knowledge of 29 CFR 1910.119 (Process Safety Management) · Must have thorough knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes and equipment · Must have knowledge of applicable industry standards, codes, and engineering practices (API, ASME, NFPA, etc) · OSHA-PSM Level 1 Certification and/or PHA Facilitator training preferred · Must have excellent computer skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Risk Stature Assessment or PHA Pro (Dyadem) · Must have excellent organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
