Job Overview:

Work is performed at a manufacturing facility which houses cabling and extruding machines, a manufacturing facility which houses sheet metal stamping and bending machines, and a distribution center all in the Rocky Mount, NC area. The Safety associate will work closely with the HSE Manager performing the following list of duties plus any other duties that might arise on a daily basis.

Duties:

  • Participate in incident/accident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Assist with safety inspections/audits of facilities, documenting non compliances.
  • Work with process engineering and maintenance to create Lockout/Tagout instruction sheets using Brady software.
  • Conduct Risk assessments for equipment and/or update existing risk assessments
  • Conduct machine guarding surveys.
  • Label racks with weight capacities.
  • Conduct noise studies.
  • Conduct survey of Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Ensure SDSs are available for all chemicals used in facility.
  • Assist with preparing and conducting safety training.
  • Assist with maintaining HSE information on TIER Boards.
  • Assist site HSE with ISO 14001 initiatives.
  • Various other duties as prescribed by the HSE Manger.
