The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a strong safety culture across the Western Region by ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations. This role focuses on reducing workplace risk, preventing incidents, and ensuring consistent implementation of safety programs across all locations. The position supports training, audits, incident investigations, claims management, and operational compliance activities


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Ensure compliance w/ OSHA, DOT, FMCSA for all federal and state safety regulations.
  • Conduct quarterly safety training and support ongoing safety education across the company.
  • Manage Samsara Safety Inbox daily to ensure branch location compliance.
  • Conduct Bi-annual location safety audits assessing company compliance with safety regulations.
  • Manage and maintain Safety Culture as an administrator supporting platform for company.
  • Manage OSHA compliance including recordkeeping, violations, and regulatory interpretation.
  • Manage workers’ compensation, general liability, and auto claims within Mountain region.
  • Review all accidents and ensure proper documentation, investigation, and corrective actions.
  • Manage and maintain Safety Culture program for the entire company.
  • Assist with fleet FMCSA regulatory reporting including IRP/IFTA, UCR filings, MCS-150, etc.
  • Maintain and update company Safety Manual and distribute to all levels of the company.
  • Participate in annual safety training conferences and continuing education opportunities.
  • Manage Fleet Tire Program to keep current and up to date
  • Manage Alliant Risk Management Center topic distribution and maintenance across company.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of safety and/or compliance-related experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, FMCSA regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Understanding of emergency preparedness, safety protocols, and risk management principles.
  • Knowledge of IFTA, IRP, and related transportation compliance programs.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe or similar business software.
  • Strong organizational skills, leadership skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, managers, and vendors.
  • Advanced safety training or certifications preferred.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
