Job Overview:

Position Summary

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support workplace safety initiatives and help maintain compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements. This role partners closely with supervisors and employees to promote a safe and healthy work environment through training, inspections, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about workplace safety in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining workplace safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Support employee safety training, including safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in facility inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with investigations involving workplace incidents, injuries, and near-miss events, including documentation and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and related documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Track safety supplies, PPE inventory, and equipment inspection schedules.
  • Promote safety awareness and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives and programs.
  • Support compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations and standards.
  • Communicate safety-related information effectively with employees and supervisors.
  • Monitor and report hazardous conditions and unsafe work practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the company’s safety program.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and apply safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, or other applicable safety standards preferred.

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or coursework in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Internship, co-op, or prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification after hire.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel on a limited basis, as required.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods as needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout a manufacturing facility as required.
