Position Title: Safety and Quality Technician
Position Summary:
The Safety Technician supports the Environmental Health and Safety department in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This role involves identifying hazards, supporting safety program implementation, conducting training, maintaining safety records, and assisting with incident investigations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in safety regulations, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify workplace hazards and evaluate associated risks to prevent incidents and injuries.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct safety training for employees and management to promote a strong safety culture and awareness.
- Investigate workplace incidents, determine root causes, and help develop corrective action plans.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Observe and assess workplace conditions and practices to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Effectively communicate safety policies, procedures, and updates to employees and leadership.
- Maintaining and updating safety documentation and records
- Offering safety guidance and support to employees
- Assisting departments with regulatory compliance
- Monitoring environmental and safety practices across the facility
- Verify in-person parts/sub-assemblies/Final Assembly Units match drawings/specifications packets
- Generate NCM (Non-Conforming Material) reports as needed
- Identify product status as needed to prevent use/shipment Non-Conforming product
- Supports “Lean Business Enterprise” initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination
- Scanning documents and Data Entry
- Other Ad hoc duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety standards
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience in safety, occupational health, or a related technical field preferred
- Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Safety-related degree preferred
- Microsoft office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
