Job Overview:

Building New Haven County — One Crew at a Time

QUARRY CRUSHING FOREMAN

Run the Plant. Lead the Crew. Own the Shift.

Full-Time | New Haven County, CT

If you know your way around a crusher plant and can get the best out of a crew, this is your seat. Haynes Group is looking for an experienced Quarry Crushing Foreman to take ownership of daily plant operations — the person everyone looks to when equipment needs troubleshooting, production needs pushing, and the crew needs a leader who's been in the trenches. This isn't an entry-level supervisor role. It's a chance to run your own operation, with the backing of a company that's been building New Haven County for generations.

Why You'll Want This Job

  • Real ownership of the plant floor — not micromanaged from an office
  • Work for a vertically integrated developer with steady, long-term projects — not a here-today, gone-tomorrow contractor
  • Lead and mentor a crew, with the authority to make the calls that keep production moving
  • Path to grow with a company actively expanding across active development sites

What You'll Own

  • Run daily crushing plant operations start to finish — startup, shutdown, and everything in between
  • Lead, train, and mentor plant operators, laborers, and maintenance crew
  • Keep the plant compliant — MSHA/OSHA regulations and company safety procedures, every shift
  • Hit production goals and quality specs, and know the numbers behind them
  • Inspect crushers, screens, conveyors, and equipment to keep the line running safe and strong
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs, and flag mechanical issues before they become downtime
  • Keep clean, accurate production, maintenance, and safety records
  • Be the communication link between the plant floor and management on schedules, staffing, and issues
  • Enforce a clean, organized, hazard-free plant — housekeeping is part of the job, not an afterthought
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and find ways to squeeze more efficiency out of the plant
  • Manage environmental compliance, including dust control and material handling

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED; technical or trade training is a plus
  • 3–5+ years in aggregate, mining, or rock crushing operations
  • Supervisory or lead experience — you've run a shift or a crew before
  • Sharp working knowledge of crushing plant equipment and material flow
  • Comfort with MSHA/OSHA regulations and safety best practices
  • Can read and act on production schedules, maintenance logs, and equipment manuals
  • Leadership, communication, and problem-solving chops — people follow you because you're good, not just because you're the boss

A Plus If You Have

  • Experience with plant automation or control systems
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management instincts

The Work Itself

  • Outdoor, industrial quarry/aggregate setting — this is a hands-on, on-your-feet job
  • Standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Extended hours, weekends, or shifts as production demands — with the bonus to match
  • Noise, dust, heavy equipment, and moving machinery are part of the environment; full PPE required at all times
