SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The position of the Robotics Engineer is accountable for overseeing the robotic systems to achieve the maximum efficiency in the manufacturing production areas of a heavy industrial fabrication welding facility The incumbent will play a crucial role in researching, designing, building configuring, testing and maintaining robotic and robotic welding systems and applications.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Reading, writing, analyzing and interpreting technical procedures and schematics. Defining problems, collecting data, and deducing facts and conclusions. Ensure all product meets Quality standards for form, fit, and finish.

  • Writing software, building electronics, and designing mechanisms.
  • Designing robotic peripheral equipment.
  • Programming complex robotics systems.
  • Researching, developing, and maintaining robotics systems and components.
  • Troubleshooting robotics systems and applications.
  • Develop automated welding processes and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records.

To ensure success the incumbent should exhibit knowledge of manufacturing process troubleshooting and robotics.

SKILLS/SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of robotic welding systems.
  • Proven skills in writing software and programming systems.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Able to apply advanced mathematical concepts.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Safety and results focused for improved efficiency and productivity.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in automation, mechanical, robotics or electrical engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Excellent knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
  • Excellent knowledge of welding and welding processes.
  • 2 or more years’ experience in manufacturing, robotics engineering or similar role.
  • Reviewing and approving cost estimates and project calculations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A desire to continually upgrade technical knowledge. Provide technical support for robotic systems.

Compensation range: $68,000-$99,000
