Role Description:
We are looking for a skilled Robotic Weld Technician to join our team and help us push the limits of steel and aluminum fabrication using state-of-the-art robotic mig welding systems. Weld Technician will be working within and supporting a welding team production environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with competence. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Additional job duties may be assigned.
- Provide technical support in developing and improving welding processes
- Set up fixtures and jigs for aluminum/steel welding applications
- Experience with weld path programming and touch-up techniques
- Familiarity with weld inspection criteria (AWS D1.1, D1.2 is a plus)
- Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and use measuring tools
- Previous manual Mig welding experience is a plus
- Troubleshoot part fit-up problems
- Perform quality inspections and troubleshoot weld defects
- Knowledge of robot programming and general welding maintenance (Fanuc, Kuka)
- Controls knowledge (Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, SLC 500 and SLC 5000 family of controls and HMI)
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize weld parameters
- Maintain equipment and follow all safety standards

Work Environment

Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Must have minimum of 2+ years as a weld technician/programmer working with steel and aluminum welding in a manufacturing environment.
Certifications:
- 2 year certificate in an electronic/electrician or robotic weld technical program or equivalent experience preferred.
Computer skills:
- Experience with basic computer systems.
Communication skills:
- Speak effectively with fellow employees or customers.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Mathematical skills:
- Apply mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as basic algebra.
Other Skills:
- Detail oriented.
- Organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
