Within Sanofi, the Procurement function is a powerhouse maximizing savings to fund the company’s future growth. The Chief Procurement Officer is reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, member of the sanofi executive committee. The Procurement organization is divided into five Domains (Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Scientific & Medical and Digital) leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Center of Excellence & Transformation. The yearly spend coverage is around 15B€ with a special focus on Procurement excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability. Closely collaborating with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units, Procurement is instrumental in achieving cost efficiency and savings. Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operational Impact with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It forges strategic partnerships with suppliers, prioritizing innovation and data driven solutions.

As the global Risk Framework and Excellence Lead, you will play a crucial role in driving our global procurement Risk strategy, ensuring compliance with government rules and regulations related to human rights, labor, corporate social responsibility and the procurement risk framework. You will collaborate closely with various departments and procurement domains to manage the onboarding and continuous assessment of suppliers with respect to the risk parameters and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

Risk Governance Model & Implementation

  • Develop, design and maintain overall procurement Risk strategy with respect to due diligence and onboarding of new suppliers, annual assessment of the critical suppliers.
  • Define and maintain the risk KPIs for Cyber, Financial and other risks outlined in the overall strategy.
  • Design the risk training for the entire procurement organization and maintain the related KPIs.
  • Ensure ownership of Coupa PRM and global roll out of the risk framework with continuous improvement and manage the COUPA risk platform as the key point person and subject matter expert.
  • Be the POC for the vendor master data team to ensure continuous data and process improvement related to supplier risk
  • Lead the mono sourcing exit project to ensure manufacturing and supply risks have business continuity plan in place.
  • Conduct top 20 product Risk assessment in defined phases.
  • Monitor all open CAPA items and ensure timely mitigation and action plan is executed.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of suppliers and procurement activities to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities based on the base line of suppliers list identified for ABDD, Financial risk, HSE, Cyber etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Legal, and Compliance to ensure alignment of risk management efforts with business objectives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on procurement risk management matters, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness and compliance within the organization through training, communication, and awareness campaigns.
  • Evaluate and improve the supplier risk program policies and processes to ensure compliance with new regulations such as EU supply chain due diligence and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive are called out in the overall risk strategy.

Drive Compliance thru data and metrics

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of risk management initiatives overall, and ensure consistent reporting.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement risk management processes thru digital capability and dashboards.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in procurement risk management to ensure compliance and adaptability to changing environments.

About You

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/Engineering degree: in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 10-15 years proven experience in Risk Management and/or procurement, supply chain management, within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier relationship management, and supply chain risk management principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks effectively.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to procurement and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within established timelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Expertise with Risk platforms like Resilinc, Coupa etc. required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree pref
  • Experience with conducting general Financial Audit and/or specific supplier audits, assessments, or evaluations.
  • Knowledge of child labor, anti bribery, ethics, living wage human rights regulations globally preferred.

  • Fluent in English is a must
