The Chief Procurement Officer is reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, member of the sanofi executive committee. The Procurement organization is divided into five Domains (Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Scientific & Medical and Digital) leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Center of Excellence & Transformation. The yearly spend coverage is around 15B€ with a special focus on Procurement excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability. Closely collaborating with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units, Procurement is instrumental in achieving cost efficiency and savings. Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operational Impact with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It forges strategic partnerships with suppliers, prioritizing innovation and data driven solutions.
As the global Risk conformity and Compliance Lead, you will play a crucial role in driving our global procurement Risk strategy, ensuring compliance with government rules and regulations related to human rights, labor, corporate social responsibility and the procurement risk framework. You will collaborate closely with various departments and procurement domains to manage the onboarding and continuous assessment of suppliers with respect to the risk parameters and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities
Procurement Risk Governance Management & Implementation
Develop and design risk management policy, procedures, and tools to monitor and mitigate procurement risks effectively with respect to CSRD, CS3D.
Lead the workshop and stakeholder meetings to get alignment on the CSRD and CS3D strategy based on the Gap assessment of Twentyfifty.
This is a two year full time project with a brand new strategy to be developed to address the gaps like grievance mechanism, narratives, communication, training etc.
Lead and maintain relationship with Human Rights, Risk labor expert in the CSR function to keep alignment on the strategy.
Lead and maintain the annual Conflict mineral process to complete the declaration timely for the SEC filing
Manage the annual Living wage KPI and ensure supplier code of conduct and contracts have the appropriate language to address SANOFI’s commitment to Living wage in line with the UN commitment
Manage the year end Chapter 3 filing with appropriate narratives.
Liaison with HSE for risk profile of the high risk suppliers and ensure collaboration with procurement buyers to put a CAPA and mitigation plan in place.
Liaison with procurement services team to ensure metrics and KPIs are defined on time and distributed on a schedule.
Lead and run the Procurement Risk Council on a monthly basis.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of suppliers and procurement activities to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Legal, and Compliance to ensure alignment of risk management efforts with business objectives.
Serve as a subject matter expert on procurement risk management matters, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders as needed.
Foster a culture of risk awareness and compliance within the organization through training, communication, and awareness campaigns.
Ensure regular follow-up of Internal Audit and Internal Control action plans.
Evaluate and improve the supplier risk program policies and processes to ensure compliance with new regulations such as EU supply chain due diligence and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive
Drive Compliance thru data and metrics
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of risk management initiatives and ensure consistent reporting.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement risk management processes.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in procurement risk management to ensure compliance and adaptability to changing environments.
About You
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration/Engineering degree: in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
At least 8-10 years proven experience in Risk Management and/or procurement, supply chain management, within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier relationship management, and supply chain risk management principles.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks effectively.
Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to procurement and supply chain management.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within established timelines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred
Experience with conducting general Financial Audit and/or specific supplier audits, assessments, or evaluations.
Knowledge of pharmacovigilance, drug safety, or regulatory compliance requirements.
Experience with contract negotiation and management.
