Responsible for the development and administration of risk management programs to maximize protection of the organization's assets. Coordinates the investigation and follow-up of incidents involving products/services with insurance companies and attorneys. Reviews data and recommends risk minimization programs. Leads a team of direct reports.

General Overview:

The Risk & Compliance Manager, specializing in Product Liability Claims Administration and Compliance, plays a critical role in managing product-related claims and ensuring compliance with organizational standards for trademarks and contracts. This position focuses on mitigating legal risks, resolving product liability claims efficiently, and maintaining adherence to intellectual property and contractual obligations in MPact (internal contract management system) across the organization.

Overall Responsibilities

Product Liability Claims Administration:

  • Claim Handling & Investigation:
    • Administer and manage the lifecycle of product liability claims, including intake, investigation, and resolution.
    • Collect and analyze relevant evidence (e.g., product specifications, warranties, customer feedback) to assess the validity and scope of claims.
    • Work with internal teams (e.g., outside legal counsel, quality assurance, product development) to determine the root cause of issues and develop resolutions, when needed.
  • Resolution & Negotiation:
    • Collaborate with outside legal counsel and insurers to negotiate settlements while minimizing financial and reputational risks.
    • Ensure timely communication with claimants, providing updates on claim status and resolution processes.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
    • Maintain accurate records of claims and resolutions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare periodic reports to track trends in product liability claims for financial reporting, management review and recommend strategies for risk reduction.

Compliance - Contract Monitoring:

  • Contract Monitoring:
    • Review and track contracts across the organization to ensure compliance with Mpact legal and organizational standards.
    • Maintain a database of contractual obligations, deadlines, and key milestones to ensure timely renewals and compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders (legal, procurement, quality assurance, R&D, marketing) to ensure alignment on compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a liaison with external legal counsel, insurers, and regulatory bodies on product liability claims and compliance matters.

Qualifications, Skills, Competencies

  • Key Skills:
    • Expertise in product liability claims administration and resolution processes
    • Experience with property claims required
    • Familiarity with contract and trademark monitoring tools and legal terminology.
    • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience:
    • 5–7 years of experience in claims management.
    • Experience on intellectual property and contract administration is a plus.

Pay Range:

80,000.00 - 120,000.00
