Job Overview:

Modern RF architectures must be space-saving, energy-efficient, and extremely flexible. They are increasingly being implemented with very broadband analog/digital converters to replace or digitally replicate previous analog RF functions such as filters or mixers. 

As an enrolled student of electrical engineering or related field of study, you’ll be part of our research team, helping to develop new measurement procedures for RF components in future 5G and 6G communication systems. The focus of this position is in developing the test system for calibrating and testing these types of components. This position will not be developing the components themselves.

 In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Implement measurement and automation scripts in LabVIEW
  • ​Develop new measurement procedures for mixed-signal characterization

  • ​​You are passionate about wireless technology and like to learn and work with the latest test and measurement techniques and equipment. 
  • You enjoy programming and use software to streamline work, automate test workflows, explore data, and bring engineering ideas to life.
  • You can manage your time well and reach out to mentors with questions to help drive progress and completion of goals and tasks.  
  • ​You work effectively in a global team environment, problem-solve, and diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions.​ 

 

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Active student enrollment, working toward a ​​Bachelor’s degree
  • ​​​Programming knowledge of test equipment control software (LabVIEW, Simulink, or similar graphical programming preferred)
  • Knowledge in signal processing, RF/wireless communications, S Parameters, frequency domain analysis, intermodulation
  • Experience in the practical use of common RF test equipment (e.g., Signal Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope)  
  • ​Analytical thinking and a high degree of initiative
  • Good command of spoken and written English  
  • Available to work full time (40-hrs/week) for 6 months, starting in January 2027

 

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • ​Interest in RF/Mixed-Signal measurement systems measurement and accuracy challenges
  • ​Proficiency in a broad toolset for programming, debugging, and analytics (e.g., LabVIEW, Python, C++)​
