Rework Solder Technician

Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rework Solder Technician to perform precision soldering, rework, repair, and modification of electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards (PCBs). The ideal candidate will have experience with surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform soldering, desoldering, rework, and repair of electronic assemblies and PCBAs.
• Remove and replace SMT and through-hole components using appropriate soldering and rework equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and technical documents.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot assembly defects and perform corrective rework as needed.
• Use microscopes, soldering stations, hot-air rework systems, and other electronic repair equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and rework activities.
• Follow ESD, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures at all times.
• Support manufacturing and engineering teams with process improvements and special projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in electronic assembly, soldering, or PCB rework.
• Experience with SMT and through-hole soldering techniques.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• IPC-A-610 Certification.
• IPC-7711/7721 Rework and Repair Certification.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing, aerospace, medical device, or defense industries.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to perform detailed work under a microscope.
• Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Compensation: $30.00 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.
